Melanie Foley – advisor, grant writing and applications

Melanie A. Foley currently assists in an advisory role for FFP aiding with the grant writing and application process. Melanie hopes that in assisting FFP by strengthening financial options the Partnership will in turn be able to have more meaningful collaborative ventures and assist in the economic growth of not only the Tampa Bay area but all of Florida for the film industry.

As someone who has always found philanthropic and nonprofit work to be immensely rewarding, Melanie is currently an active member of The Junior League of Tampa, Inc., volunteering countless hours to community projects and partnerships. Melanie also serves as a Chair and general committee member for The Heart Gallery of Tampa and their “Be Mine” Gala. The Heart Gallery of Tampa strives to find forever families for Tampa’s foster children.

Melanie received her LL.M. in Business and Commercial Law from Boston College Law School in 2015. While studying at BC Law she geared her course work towards complex business and tax litigation. Prior to obtaining her LL.M. Melanie received her Juris Doctorate from New England Law | Boston in 2014.

Throughout her time at NEL|B, she completed various internships, made Dean’s List and participated in several legal government projects; notably she spearheaded a campaign with the school’s Financial Aid Office to assist in the schools Veteran’s Educational Funding through the Yellow Ribbon Program, which assisted in offsetting the cost of education while enrolled at the law school.

May 2011 Melanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and in December of 2010 she earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science in December 2010, from The University of South Florida Tampa, FL. In May 2010, she received a Certificate from USF in Latin American and Caribbean Studies after completing significant casework and research into politics and global connections and the impacts of business as it related to political globalization. In August of 2008 Melanie received a Certificate from the University of Cambridge, Selwyn College, Cambridge England in Contemporary British Politics specifically the effects of business globalization on the Commonwealth’s societies.
