John T. “Jack” Hebert – director

Jack Hebert just celebrated his 28th anniversary as founder and president of The Mallard Group, Inc., a Clearwater agency specializing in advertising, consulting and public and governmental relations services to both political campaigns and professional associations. Jack holds an advertising degree from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. A Chicago native, Florida and the Tampa Bay area have been his home for over 40 years.

His firm’s work has won a wide variety of American Advertising Addy awards in both local and regional competitions held by the American Advertising Federation and twelve national Pollie awards, the top honor recognizing creativity and effectiveness in political advertising awarded by the American Association of Political Consultants. His work has spanned scores of campaigns at the local, state and national levels including the campaigns of Presidents Reagan and Bush (41).

A past president of the Tampa Bay Advertising Federation, he was named Tampa Bay Advertising Professional of the Year in 1996.  In 2001 he was awarded advertising’s highest honor by the Fourth District AAF, the Jack Phillips Gold Medal, recognizing creative excellence and outstanding contributions to the industry and the community. In 2004 the TBAF recognized him with their highest recognition, the AAF Silver Medal. 

Jack is a current board member for Boley Centers, a community mental health and affordable housing agency in St. Petersburg. His charitable efforts also include his work as executive director of both the George C. Forsythe Family Foundation, and the newly-formed John Morroni Legacy Foundation, a non-profit recognizing superior service among Tampa Bay’s law enforcement and first responder community.

Jack and his wife Susanne, an exec with Macy’s-Florida, have two daughters; Allison, a mental health counselor in private practice in Tampa and Lindsay, a senior program director and doctoral candidate with Johns Hopkins Healthcare in Baltimore. An avid food and wine enthusiast, in his spare moments you’ll likely find Jack honing his skills in yet another culinary school kitchen.
